The end of the Track

The longest 35 miles I’ve ever had the pleasure of walking. From a hiking standpoint it does not sound like that great a distance, but given the terrain it felt like 100 miles.

Falls

Along with the finger like waterfalls that appear after each rain, cascading down the mountainsides, there are also (obviously) more permanent fixtures of water making it’s way to lower ground. Scared

Charlie and I on the descent. As I said, falling rocks were a definite possibility – but for whatever reason a photo by the ‘no stopping’ sign seemed in order. Note the “frightened” look on our faces. We’re dumb. hehe.

Descent

After spending an hour on the top of the Mackinnon Pass, we began our descent down the other side. From a hiking standpoint, especially when wearing a pack, the way down is much harder on your body than the way up. This is the day I distinctly remember my feet hurting pretty bad. [...]
