Starting Again

Posted on Tuesday 13 May 2008

I wish I weren’t so hot and cold with the SCA. We love it, but life gets in the way sometimes. In the last few years, I’ve only been to a handful of events and practices, my time period changed drastically and back again, my fighting really suffered.

I need start going to practice and never miss. I’ve realized Norse is the one true path, and will strive for a very period presentation. Last night I started re-lacing my lamellar and tonight I’ll edge it in soft deerskin with multiple closures up the side. I’ll start to add photos of projects here, and generally use this space more. It might be a good way to remind myself I have much to do!

An Afternoon of Fun

Posted on Monday 12 November 2007

“An Afternoon of Fun” was held in the Shire of Eastwatch on the east side of Cleveland in early October. I was looking forward to a sunny but cooler day of fighting, my favorite time of year, and it was HOT. (For October at least.)

The pot-luck feast was a great idea (bees withstanding) - lots of good food, the site was wet, all-in-all a very nice little event.

Pennsic Photos

Posted on Sunday 28 October 2007

Very late posting here, as usual. I’ve been doing more SCA lately than I have in a long time, which has been great. We’ve gone to a few local events recently and plan on being at a lot more. This year’s Pennsic photos have been up for quite a while, but I haven’t officially linked to them from here. Click here for this year’s set.

Candlemas 2007

Presence

Emer and I went to Candlemas early this year. Always a great tournament, Candlemas draws the upper echelon of fighters from a few of the nearby kingdoms. My knight, His Majesty Valharic and his queen Arielle were in attendance, and it was with Joy that Emer and I got to spend time with them and other friends that had traveled far to be a part of the day.
